A New Project for 2026

With the start of a new year comes new goals and projects. In looking back at my 2025 goals, I think I did quite well with personal, project and professional goals. I enjoyed working at Bloomingdale, Syracuse and Albany but especially on my family relationships. I did some pretty simple and accomplishable things like cooking dinners for Christine and spending deliberate time with my children/grandchild. I also set some overly-ambitious goals which I failed at like getting my garages cleaned up and the 1970 Lincoln down from its resting place since 1984.

I have more to accomplish in 2026 (God willing) on all of the above but one of my new ambitions is to capture ongoing events in my life and remember old ones in a place I can share with friends and family.

This project is a lot like the Sawshed (which is where I hope to write it while I work on another 2026 goal- to disconnect and make time for disconnected activities like reading a book, listening to the latest Nuggs show or writing).

The shed started as a little idea to have a place in the woods to enjoy nature with a few comforts of home. It evolved along with my ideas and vision with various levels of design.
I'm sure whatever this is will have fits, starts and failures like the progress on the structure. It may be abandoned, burn to the ground or be taken down by the authorities.
This initial draft is just my attempt to create a place for me to simply and frequently post some shit (pictures, comments and drunk texts) to be either read or not at a later date. I currently use One Note for this and find it therapeutic and amusing. It was that catalogue that gave me the idea for this blog. I have 4 typical categories:
A Greater Good: Thoughts/pics about God, the Spirit, Nature, hunting and fishing
The Rest of Your Life: Work projects, sawmill and side job pics with the occasional rant /stress outlet
Good Times: Family, festivals, concerts and travel
Rants, Ramblings and Unposted Posts: May or may not be suitable for sensitive or delicate readers
Also hoping this helps me accomplish 2026 goal of creating the chronology of photos/videos from my sources of Heartwarming Images and Awesome Pics.
